Cats in the City Rescue · FELINE TRANSITIONS®
A guardian-first pathway when a cat needs a new home
Structured Rehoming brings applications, records, assessment, decision-making, intake, and transition planning into one guided process built around the cat’s welfare and a durable placement.

The public program and the private workflow serve different purposes
This overview helps guardians understand the pathway. Applications, personal details, veterinary records, photographs, signatures, payments, and appointment information belong in the protected Guardian Portal. Staff review cases inside the private Rescue Programs Team Portal.
Structured intake
Share the cat’s history, current household situation, veterinary information, behavior, needs, and rehoming context in one guided application.
Review and decision
The Rescue team can coordinate records, assessment, program decisions, contribution steps, and intake without losing the history behind the case.
Transition support
The pathway centers preparation, realistic matching, and continuity so placement is treated as a transition rather than a transaction.
Start or continue securely
The Guardian Portal uses email-code access and is intentionally kept out of the public navigation and search indexes. Return to the same portal whenever you need to continue an application or respond to a program step.
