Cats in the City Rescue · Lifetime Care

Your care can continue—even when you cannot be there.

Build one clear, secure plan for every cat you love. Record daily routines, medical needs, trusted people, future-care wishes, and the documents your advocates may need in an emergency.

A plan built around your cats

Give future caregivers the details only you know.

Lifetime Care turns your knowledge into an organized, updateable record. It supports the people who may need to step in and gives Cats in the City Rescue reliable information for advocacy and coordination.

01

Care profiles

Capture food, medications, veterinary history, routines, behavior, relationships, safety needs, and placement preferences for each cat.

02

Letter of Intent

Create a versioned interim record of your wishes so advocates have current guidance while the legal pathway is being completed.

03

Care team and legal pathway

Name primary and alternate agents, invite priority contacts, and complete a separate guided Pet Care Power of Attorney pathway.

04

Verified response

If illness, incapacity, or death is reported, the team verifies the event, preserves the current documents, and contacts people in the planned order.

How it works

Thoughtful planning, one manageable step at a time.

The guided flow follows the same calm, structured logic used in our care and transition work, with language designed for guardians planning ahead.

  1. Tell us about your household and cats.Add one or several cats under a single guardian plan.
  2. Document care and future wishes.Move through clear questions and save as you go.
  3. Build the people and document plan.Create the Letter of Intent, invite caregivers, and complete the attorney-reviewed pathway.
  4. Keep everything current.Review annually and whenever care, contacts, or circumstances change.
